After dropping two new tracks last month (“Finally Made It” & “Shoot for the Stars” last month), SCS just dropped his new July single earlier today. “Extra Extra” is a return to SCS’ social justice roots and drops several truth bombs about racism, inequality & police brutality. The instrumental produced by PSBeats, and the song is available across virtually all digital platforms including: iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play & Amazon Music.
In support of his upcoming album “After Effect”, N-Depth is going to be moving stealthily around San Francisco this upcoming Sunday to shoot a video for his song “The Batman” featuring Sacramento-area talent & band frontman Skinner.
A Batman-themed track to be sure, this one is about protecting your loved ones and rising up above the Jokers and Riddlers of the world. Initial indications are that this video should drop at the same time as his album late this year. Stay tuned.
Almost exactly a year after dropping his debut LP “First Day of School”, SCS put out his second album “Leaps & Bounds” earlier today. Containing 15 tracks most of which center around social justice issues and positive messaging aimed at youth, SCS has put the same recipe to work in his second effort as he did his first.
“Yeah, my music generally tends to fall into those two buckets: ‘sticking it to the man’ and ‘watering the seeds,'” he said. “This latest album gets its name from how I feel we as people can progress by ‘leaps and bounds’ if we can learn to work together across societal divides like age, race and gender.”

This past weekend, SCS headed partially across the Bay Bridge to the easternmost edge of San Francisco to Treasure Island. He didn’t travel to go to the flea market; instead he and videographer Kevin Curro shot the video for “Resist”, the first song on SCS’ upcoming second album “Leaps & Bounds”.
While lacking many of the special effects seen in Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 video “Alright” shot on T.I., SCS’ video nonetheless carries a powerful message of resistance against the status quo. While shot in color, it looks like he and his team are leaning toward moving this to the black & white / grayscale domain for added effect.
The song “Resist” drops when “Leaps & Bounds” drops on 9/29. SCS thinks the video will come out later this year: “While we don’t have an exact timetable locked in yet for the video, I expect it to drop in the next couple months,” he said.
If you were in Dolores Park this afternoon, you may have seen N-Depth kicking back on the hill getting photographed for his upcoming album cover for “After Effect” slated to drop later this year.
Dressed in all black including a San Francisco Giants long-sleeved shirt and shades, N-Depth conveyed his cool, laid-back demeanor during the shoot as “After Effect” is all about recovering, reflecting and starting anew after a relationship went sour as outlined in his first (and previous) album “The Recovery”.
“After Effect” is slated to drop later this year.
SCS was out early in San Francisco this past Sunday shooting the video for “Breakneck Speeds”, the 7th track on his upcoming album “Leaps & Bounds” that drops later this week on Fri, 9/28.
SCS and the crew started on the steps around the corner from the Green Tortoise Hostel in North Beach at about 8:15am prior to shooting by the Chronicle Building at Minna & Mary just after 9. The crew then headed over to Pac Heights to shoot at a couple different locations prior to wrapping up shooting in Potrero Hill.
While a lot of footage was captured, it looks like SCS has at least one more shoot date planned for this project as he and crew are going to involve some driving scenes as the song’s title suggests.
